Terrence R. Redding, Ph.D., has been appointed the Director of Global Learn Day beginning with Global Learn Day 2010.

Change in Emphasis

Beginning this year Global Learn Day will be celebrated world wide, everywhere those who dream of a better world through education can pause to recognize the importance of learning.

This year I am encouraging local organizers to plan individual programs continent by continent, country by country and city by city. We will list the location, organization, event, point of contact, first year they participated in Global Learn Day, number of years they have participated, and a link to there URL for the event.

Any organization, whether for profit or non-profit is welcome to participate. For example the VHL Family Alliance will be participating for the second time, though they first participated in 2004. We invite each to tell their education story and provide a link to their website. This year OnLine Training, Inc. will be participating for the ninth time. We first participated in 1997.

Location will be by continent.
Organization will be by type and name.
Individuals can also be listed.

This year the effort is to decentralize to an extent that allows regional energies to emerge. At the same time we want to recognize those that have become to be known as GLDers, and the organizations that have made past GLDs possible. This year we are adding a whole new category for academics and other professional educators who wish to present in a peer reviewed setting and have their presentations included in the proceedings which will be published each year from this year forward. Global Learn Day should grow to become recognized as the international learning event of the year, similar to Earth Day. However, in our case it will be mankind's learning that will be featured and not the earth's environment.
