I took the State Exam last Thursday and didn't pass it. I was so overwhelmed with the State Manual and I knew I needed a study guide to break it down for me - a better/easier way to learn the material. I did several searches and I finally found Chris Kazor's study guide - www.passinsuranceexam.com I had never heard of him before, but there is a demo on his website that will give you a preview of how the material is presented. I ordered the CD on Monday morning, received it Tuesday and that evening I began studying the material. I took my exam on Friday evening and PASSED!
I just wanted to share this info with those of you who have been looking for other resourses. The CD really helped me to better understand - it is much more condensed. I spoke with Chris Kazor when ordering the CD and he is very helpful, and he took the time to answer any questions I had. I believe he also teaches at Andy Beverly's Florida Insurance School. I was just so excited to pass my exam and I really feel his CD enabled me to pass.
Good Luck!
Janet
Thanks for the info, Janet. I am taking my final later on today but I have often felt that the presentation is overwhelming and that there had to be a better breakdown so I am going to give your suggestion a try.
Good luck with your career!
P.S. How did you take the State Exam in the evening? Do they give the test in the evening as well?
I actually took my exam at 7:00 pm on Friday evening. I was also surprised that they offered that time.
Are you taking your exam for the first time today? I have no insurance background at all and I was overwhelmed as well. I hope his CD is of help to you.
Good luck on your exam!
Hi Janet,
I passed the final exam today. I have to say though that I thought it was difficult. I scored an 88 with an overall average of 94 but I know that means nothing in relation to the State Exam.
I checked out the demos today at the link that you gave us, Janet, and I was impressed so I am going to use them before taking my state exam.
Again, congratulations to you on passing your State Exam and thanks for the helpful information.
Sincerely,
Annette
Congratulations Annette! You did great! I agree, I thought the final exam was harder than I imagined it would be. I passed my final with a 79 and my overal average was about an 88. I'm sure you'll have no problem passing the state exam.
I would definitely call Chris Kazor with any questions before ordering the CD. He's a very nice person and is extremely helpful.
Good Luck!! Let me know how it goes. My access to the online course is up on July 6 and I may not be able to post further - my email address is janet334@msn.com.
Has anybody else used these CD's with success and are there any suggestions for other resourses such as a pre exam course. I have taken both Real Estate and Health & Life, both offered a one day course that really narrowed down the extensive material.
Thanks,
John Rothschild
John,
I purchased the Andy Beverly CD after passing the class Final Exam. You can purchase this CD from http://www.floridainsuranceschool.com for $75. I believe it was very helpful. It breaks down each section into "Flash Cards" and provides you with reasons why you miss certain questions. It also allows for State Exam Simulations at different durations ranging from 45 questions/45 min to 150 questions/2 1/2 hours. I worked with this CD for about two weeks prior to taking the State Exam and passed with a 76.7%. I am positive that between the book, OLT Course, and Andy Beverly CD I would have scored higher had I given myself more time to study.
Sincerely,
Michael Pautauros
Terrible, terrible waste of money. I'd go as far as to say it's unusable due to the ATROCIOUS typos. Some of the Powerpoint slides are just complete copies of info in the book. There's no extra analysis or insight given into what's said, so you're basically paying for really badly put together slides that just contain the same info you'd get in the book.
Wow, whoever told us to buy this must be working for someone else...
