I wanted to contact you first of all to say thanks for this class. I have made it at the state exam. As I have been exposed to the insurance business selling L&H, I then started an agency in Naples, FL; however, it is very challenging dealing with the licensing & contracting with insurance companies. Most of them require a big book of business. I know it's not your job, but if you know any company that appoint new agents in my situation, please let me know. You should probably go through a large broker. Are you trying to get appointed for P&C? Nobody is appointing new P&C agents in Florida right now

I am getting ready to get my P and C lic. Just wanted to know why are companies not Appointing new agents?

Most call centers are hiring new agents. Call center work is not a bad job because most call center agents are taking warm calls (The customer calls you - the agent does not have to make cold calls). Base salary is around $25,000-$30,000 and incentive (commission) is on top of that. However, you have to be in an area where a call center is located.

Most of the major insurers have call centers...AIG, Liberty Mutual, Hartford, Progressive and GEICO...to name a few. Go to their websites and look for job opportunities. What part of the state are you looking for a job?

I do not know of any call centers in those areas, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. Check the websites for job opportunities.
