Passed final exam today with an 86.7%. A lot of the posts of people that passed the exam helped me get through and pass the exam so I thought I would return the favor.
In my opinion, this class will not be enough for you to pass the state exam. It is a great overview, but you will need to do much more to pass. (At least I did) In the review class I took right before the test, the instructor told me that a huge number of online students fail the exam the first ime. Below is a list of what I added to this class to make sure that I passed. Hope it helps.
Text Book and Online course: 1st thing I did was read each chapter completely in the book and then immediately went through the online version of the chapter. Take the quizes a bunch of times. Take the quiz in the back of the book a few times. (Note: The quizes in the online course are very different from the state exam so I would not come back to the quizes in the online course AFTER you pass the the class test)
KAZOR Power Point: Purchased this for about 50 dollars. It is a interactive power point presentation that walks through the book and explains things in easier to understand terms. This is extremely useful. I would strongly reccomend this. There are also some great practice quizes and a study guide you can read right before you take the state exam. The link is http://www.passinsuranceexam.com/
ONLINE EXAM SIMULATOR: This is worth it's weight in gold. I think it costs $50 and you get 35 quizes at 150 questions each. It grades each answer as you go and explains the answers after each question. It also gives you a graph at the end of each test telling you what areas you need to work on. Many of these questions were on the state exam word for word (I think they have over 1500 previous questions from state exams that it pulls from) http://www.passinsuranceexam.com/
CRAM COURSE: I took Andy Beverly's Cram course this weekend. He is conisdered one of the best for helping people pass the insurance test. DEFINITELY DO THIS. They have a lot of experience helping people pass and it made a huge difference in me being able to do well. I would recommend doing this the weekend before you take the test. BUY THE INDEX cards in advance and start going over them. A lot of the questions were exactly like the state test.
In case your wondering, I do not get any referral fees for any of this, just wanted to help anyone who is wanting to pass. Good luck to everybody and STUDY STUDY STUDY.
Best Regards,
Rayce Robinson
I was wondering if you might have put the wrong link for the Online Exam Simulator since it's the same as the Kazor Power Point. I couldn't seem to find it on that website. Would you please let me know if it is a different link. Thank you so much.
Thanks for the great tips - I'm going to try all of them!
Hey Rayce,
I think I took the Andy Beverly Class with you. By the way congratulations. I went to take the state test yesterday and got a 65.3%. I was over whelmed by the test and very disappointed with the fact that I now have to study more because I didnt pass. Thanks for the helpful hints.
