OLT-Breakroom: Pre-license Exam

I'm delighted to announce that I blasted the Pre-license exam this Thursday, June 25, with a score of 91 percent.

Now has begun the real challenge, which is to pass the State License Exam.

So help me God.

Thomas, good to hear. Any suggestions as far as what to study for the Pre licensing exam? Are the test questions the same/similar to those of the chapter quizzes?

I strongly suggest that you complete the Quizz in the textbook. A great deal of the test will come from the 150 questions. Practice the quizzes in the on-line study as much as youn can; you will also face questions from those quizzes. Things like ERISA and HMO and PPO also are common questions. You should know the role of Citizens and the residual market for automobile and workers compensation insurance. Although you should know the material, you will gain a lot by practicing the quizzes.

did it ask alot about coverages as far as amounts for each? Also, did it give alot of hypothetical questions or mostly definitions?

Not too many questions about coverage amounts. Definitions are a must. Again, the Final Quizz on the back of the Book contains mamny, many test questions.

Thank you. I'm planning on taking the test next week but I'm not sure if I'm ready. Hopefully the test is easier than I think. Did it focus more on auto, commercial and general liabilty more than most?

Also, do you know if I can apply to take the state exam? I had already done my fingerprints 6 months ago when I went to take the real estate exam so I'm hoping I don't have to retake them.

Until the school inputs your score from their final exam, you probably will not be able to register for the state exam. The only way to fond out is to go to Pearson Vue and see if they have activated your enrollment. I have taken other exams and was able to take them within 2 days of finishing class. As for fingerprints, contact Pearson Vue. They will tell you what your status is. Hope this helps.

As for the fingerprint, if it's less than a year old, you may not have to do it again. As a matter of fact, when applying for the State Authorization to take the licnesing test, I was asked whether I have any recent fingerprint in the system.

I am almost sure it's valid for one year, which means you can use it for several applications within that timeframe.

How does the pre-license exam work for this course? Can you just go to the school and take it anytime or are there predetermined dates to take it? Please advise. Thanks.

Strongly advise you contact your school well ahead of time. EG: My school conducts the end of course exam once a month. Only after you pass THAT exam cna you sit for the state pre-licensing exam. This is how it works in Florida....
