This Intermediate level life insurance continuing education course is designed to be completed at your own pace via the Internet. The course contains four sections. Each section is graded separately. The grade score from each section is averaged to produce a total passing score. Section one addresses the function of life insurance in contemporary America, the present composition of the insurance industry, and the insurance contract as it relates to the law. Section two explores traditional and contemporary insurance contracts, with a detailed discussion of the elements of the insurance contract, and then identifies ways insurance companies enhance contracts. Section three provides a discussion on benefit distribution designations and options, contract pricing and ratings, taxation of premiums, benefits and benefit options, and risk selection and types of receipts. Section four covers the characteristics of group life insurance, the role of social security in contemporary society, planning for a "ripe old age," and analyzing the insurance needs for individual and business.
